Privacy Policy

Plain English, no legalese theater. Here is exactly what I collect, why I collect it, and how to get it deleted.

Who I am

Cohoon Consulting is a sole proprietorship operated by Tyler Cohoon in Davisburg, Michigan. I build websites and help local businesses get found online. I am the only person who handles your information, and I do not sell it or share it with data brokers — ever.

Questions about anything on this page? Email tyler@cohoonconsulting.com or call (248) 245-1383.

Information you give me directly

When you fill out a form on this site, submit a form inside a Facebook or Instagram ad, book a call on my calendar, or email or text me, I receive what you chose to send. Depending on the form, that may include:

  • ·Your name and business name
  • ·Your email address and phone number
  • ·Your existing website or social media links
  • ·The type of work your business does
  • ·Whatever you write in a message or notes field

I use this to reply to you, prepare for our conversation, and do research on your business and competitors before we talk. That is the whole purpose. I do not add you to a marketing list without you asking, and I do not send automated drip campaigns.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, this one collects basic technical information when you visit: your approximate location (usually city-level), the type of device and browser you are using, which pages you viewed, how you arrived here, and how long you stayed. This is aggregated — I see that eleven people from Clarkston visited the showcase page, not that you did.

I use it to understand which pages are useful, whether my ads are reaching the right people, and what to fix. I look at these numbers because I teach my clients to look at theirs.

Services I use

I rely on a small number of third-party services to run this site. Each has its own privacy policy, linked below.

Google Analytics 4

Measures site traffic and which pages and buttons people use. Sets cookies in your browser. Google’s privacy policy · opt out

Google Ads

Runs my search ads and tells me which ads led to an inquiry. Sets cookies used for conversion measurement. How Google uses ad data

Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

This site includes the Meta Pixel, which tells me when someone who saw one of my Facebook or Instagram ads visited the site. If you submit a form inside a Facebook or Instagram ad, Meta collects your answers and passes them to me. Meta’s privacy policy · your Meta ad settings

Formspree

Delivers this site’s contact form submissions to my inbox. Formspree’s privacy policy

Cal.com

Handles call scheduling. If you book a call, Cal.com collects your name, email, and any notes you add. Cal.com’s privacy policy

Netlify

Hosts this website and keeps standard server access logs. Netlify’s privacy policy

Cookies and tracking

The analytics and advertising services above set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time — the site will still work. Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” setting, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising across many companies at optout.aboutads.info.

How long I keep things

Inquiries and client correspondence are kept as long as I might reasonably need them for the working relationship or my own records. Analytics data follows Google’s default retention window. Leads submitted through Facebook or Instagram forms are downloaded to my own records and deleted from Meta’s systems according to Meta’s retention policy, which is currently 90 days.

Your choices

You can ask me at any time to:

  • ·Tell you what information I have about you
  • ·Correct anything that is wrong
  • ·Delete it
  • ·Stop contacting you

Email tyler@cohoonconsulting.com and I will handle it. No form to fill out, no ticket number. I am one person — you will hear back from me directly, usually within a few hours on a weekday.

Children

This is a business-to-business service. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information, email me and I will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I add or remove a service, I will update this page and change the date at the top. There is no mailing list for policy updates — the current version always lives here.
